Kerry Wallen Lerew, lyric soprano, received the Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Lee University, Cleveland, Tennessee and the Bachelor of Arts degree in Church Music from Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Kerry’s interests include vocal pedagogy, church worship music, and opera theater, and has performed such roles as Sister Genevieve in Puccini’s, Suor Angelic, Mrs. Hayes in Floyd’s Susannah, Sophie in Massenet’s, Werther, Papagana in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, and Clorinda in Rossini’s, La Cenerentola and served in the supporting cast of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Patience. Solo masterwork performances include Handel’s Messiah. Kerry has sung with Lee University’s highly select chorale and Valley Forge Christian College’s Concert Choir which included numerous tours throughout the United States and Europe. She has received instruction from Sandra Carney, Cheryl Brendel, Janet Brown, and Charles Roe. Presently, Mrs. Lerew resides in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband and is an active performer and voice teacher.
